Pottery Barn Credit Card Review
The William Sonoma Pottery Barn Credit Card has undergone a change in its issuing partner, moving from Comenity to Capital One. With this transition, a new rewards program, known as the Key Rewards program, has been introduced, benefiting customers who shop at Williams Sonoma and Pottery Barn.
The Key Rewards program offers a two per cent reward on purchases at Williams Sonoma, Pottery Barn, and West Elm stores, even for non-cardholders. As rewards program members, participants receive special offers and discounts on purchases. However, those seeking to maximize their rewards should consider obtaining a credit card, as it provides even better benefits.
Cardholders enjoy five per cent back on purchases made at the Williams Sonoma family of stores, four per cent back on restaurant expenses, four per cent back on grocery store purchases, and one per cent back on all other transactions.
For those qualifying for the Visa version of the card, the benefits can be utilized not only at Williams Sonoma stores but also at any establishment accepting Visa cards. However, if the Visa version is not accessible, applicants may receive the store card, which limits usage to Williams Sonoma and Pottery Barn stores.
The rewards program operates by accumulating rewards, and upon reaching $15, customers receive a $15 rewards certificate, redeemable toward future purchases at Williams Sonoma, Pottery Barn, or West Elm. It's essential to note that these certificates are only valid for 90 days, compelling customers to use them within that period.
The Williams Sonoma credit card offers additional features, such as double rewards for the first 30 days on purchases at Williams Sonoma, Pottery Barn, and West Elm stores.
Cardholders also receive a $25 birthday reward every year, free shipping for online purchases at the designated stores, and a zero per cent interest rate offer on purchases of $750 or more from these establishments.
The application process involves applicants being considered for the Visa version of the card first, allowing usage at various merchants. However, those who do not qualify may receive the store card instead.
Capital One, the new issuer, is known for being relatively accommodating when approving customers for credit cards, especially store cards. Most individuals stand a good chance of approval, even with lower credit scores. However, there is a possibility of receiving the store card with its restricted usability.
The rewards program may be attractive to some, particularly if they qualify for the Visa version and can make the most of the four per cent rewards at restaurants and grocery stores. However, customers should consider the limitations of redeeming rewards only at the Williams Sonoma family of stores.
Those who prefer more flexibility may find other cashback or rewards cards more appealing. Ultimately, the decision to apply for this card depends on individual spending patterns and reward preferences.
